Welcome to Howell, Michigan

Howell is centrally located in Livingston County and was first known as Livingston Centre. Howell is the seat of Southeast Michigan Government. It was platted in 1835 by a group of settlers from Detroit, and later incorporated in 1863 and is officially designated a National Historic District.

The City of Howell’s historic downtown offers a variety of shops that feature products from nearly forty different specialty retailers. Dining options are abundant, with the unique offerings of a neighborhood pub, coffee shops, steakhouse, and more!
